I LOVE PARIS by THE ALEX HIELE PARIS JAZZ COMBO
I LOVE PARIS, the first album by the Alex Hiele Paris Jazz Combo, was released on Sergent Major Company in May 2018. It features innovative original arrangements of Cole Porter classics,
some of which draw on pop, funk or tango. The album includes: “Love For Sale”,
“What is this thing called Love?”, “I've Got You Under my Skin”, “Night and Day”, “I Love You”,
“Every time We Say Goodbye”, “Just one of those Things”, “I Love Paris”, “You'd be So Nice to Come Home To” and “I Get a Kick Out of You”.
The band is composed of: Steve Rice on piano, Rob Henke on trumpet, David Stier on drums
and Alex Hiele on upright bass.

ONCE UPON A SUMMERTIME by THE ALEX HIELE PARIS JAZZ COMBO
ONCE UPON A SUMMERTIME is the second album by the Alex Hiele Paris Jazz Combo, soon to be released on Sergent Major Company in September, 2019. The album is a memorial tribute to one of the greatest French composers of the 20th Century, Michel Legrand, who passed away in January, 2019. The album features innovative original arrangements of many of Legrand’s most recognizable, award winning soundtracks and jazz compositions including: “La Chanson Des Jumelles”, from Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, “I will wait for you” from The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, “The Summer Knows” from Summer of 42, “Ask Yourself Why” and “One At a Time” from, The Swimming Pool.The title track, “Once Upon a Summertime , written by Legrand and performed by many jazz greats, most notably, Miles Davis and the Gil Evans Orchestra. Other songs featured on the album include: “Between Yesterday and Tomorrow”, recorded by Barbara Streisand and another jazz standard, “Watch What Happens”.
